I’m on board with the sustainability aspects of this product and the cleaning kit you buy first time, but I find the replacements kind of expensive, they are nearly $8 each and you can buy a new bottle from most competitors, that's mostly water, at a supermarket for maybe $4? Even the shipping was another $8 and for a sustainable company came with a fair bit of packaging even if recyclable. I don’t mind paying more up front for the kit but I can’t help feel ripped off by the re fills at 100% markup to competitors when at the end of the day I get the same amount of actual cleaning liquid as the supermarket one.

We know that we'll never have the cheapest products on the market, but there are some very good reasons why our products cost what they do. For instance, we formulate our products ourselves to achieve our non-tox, vegan and cruelty-free credentials so we pay for R&D with a local chemist. We manufacture locally in QLD - a new manufacturing business was created due to our passion for local jobs. Our product quality is very different to just-add-water brands you might find in the supermarket.
We use high-quality, plant-derived ingredients and cosmetic-grade essential oils sourced locally. We use food-grade preservatives and a home-compostable laminate. Our cardboard mailer boxes are made and purchased in Australia and our information cards are made of FSC stock and purchased from a local print business. We pick and pack in Australia and pay our staff above-award wages so that they can study/live without working several jobs.
Our bottles are custom-designed and manufactured so they can be proudly displayed on benches and people can use their bottles if they wish to reduce cost. All of these things are important to our customers, and we won't take shortcuts.
Still, if you compare our prices to other Australian made, non-toxic and sustainable products in our category, we’re sure that you’ll find them to be very competitive, especially if you're a subscriber.
Also, as a relatively small business (at least at the moment!), we can't order huge volumes like supermarket brands can, so we pay more for all of our ingredients. And, costs of raw inputs have increased globally for us too, but we've not raised prices in proportion to those increases.
